About New Chapter

We know meaningful change doesn't happen overnight, and neither does building something truly sustainable. That's why New Chapter and Senderos Vida Plena are being built in phases, with the intention of creating not only a safe place to land, but a real path toward healing, stability, and independence.

Phase I Starting Small, So We Can Start Now

Our first goal is to secure a 3-5 bedroom home in Jalisco, Mexico, where we can begin helping women and children immediately. Instead of waiting years to build a large facility, we want to begin creating impact right away. This first home will allow us to provide:
• Safe housing
• Emotional and psychological support
• Legal guidance
• Childcare support
• Structure, stability, and daily care
• Opportunities to begin rebuilding confidence and independence

Most importantly, it will give women and children something many of them haven't had in a long time: a safe place to breathe, regroup, and begin again.

Phase II Building a Safe Community for the Future

Our long-term vision is to build a larger transitional community on a beautiful 5,000 square meter property we have already identified in Jalisco, Mexico. The land is located inside a gated and protected area surrounded by nature, offering privacy, safety, and peace for the families we hope to serve. Our dream is to build small individual homes where women and their children can have their own space, privacy, and stability while still being part of a supportive community. This phase would allow us to support at least 20 families, with the possibility of eventually growing to 40. We envision a space filled with:
• Small homes
• Green areas for children
• Community spaces
• Learning and healing areas
• Nature, calm, and safety

A community, a place where families can slowly rebuild their lives with dignity and support.

Phase III Creating Long-Term Independence

Our vision goes beyond housing. One of the most important parts of rebuilding a life after domestic violence is financial independence. That's why our third phase focuses on creating a social enterprise where women can learn skills such as:
• Sewing
• Weaving
• Handmade crafts
• Artisan work
• Other creative and practical skills
The goal is to help create a self-sustaining community where women can earn a stable income, support one another, and regain confidence in their ability to build a future of their own. Products created within the community could eventually be sold through local shops and an online store, helping generate long-term sustainability for both the families and the project itself. Any profits would be reinvested directly back into Senderos Vida Plena to continue supporting more women and children in the future.
